Truemode™
(UV-curing Polymers for Optical Interconnects)
The Truemode™ family of polymers is a range of multi-functional
acrylate polymers for the fabrication of low-cost and high performance
optical interconnects. Truemode™ polymers offer a unique combination
of low loss, wide-range of refractive index, photo-sensitivity for
direct write, and environmental stability.
The low loss of <0.04dB/cm at 850nm makes Truemode™ the
ideal choice for large area optical backplanes. They are specifically
designed to be compatible with PCB manufacturing including lamination,
metal coating and reflow soldering applications, with typical glass
transition temperature of The dry-film version is suitable for use
with low-cost contact exposure
Truemode™ polymers can also be applied to cost reduction
of planar lightwave circuits, such as splitters and concentrators,
as the photosensitive polymers may be deposited and patterned using
standard spin-coating and photolithographic techniques on a wide
range of substrates including silicon, glass and FR-4.
